About the Job

As a bailiff inspector, you primarily work with investigating assets and making decisions on appropriate enforcement measures. You have an impartial role and assist those who wish to get paid while providing support and advice to those who need to pay.

You start your employment as a trainee, and after successfully completing training and practice, you will receive the title of bailiff inspector. The training lasts about a year and includes subjects such as law, communication, and conversation techniques.

The tasks are of varying scope and complexity. The cases you handle require speed and efficiency while maintaining quality. With the support of laws and regulations, you assess the material and make decisions. You work both in and outside the office, where you investigate the debtor's assets and carry out evictions.

Everyone working at the Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As a bailiff inspector, you may discover various types of crime while out on assignments and participate in collaborative efforts with other authorities. This can result in your contribution to stopping money laundering and preventing organized crime.

The work location is Gothenburg. In August 2025, we will move into newly renovated, activity-based premises at Lilla Bommen.

About You

Your Qualifications:

  • higher education or university degree with at least 180 credits/120 ECTS in law, economics, social sciences, or other equivalent higher education
  • driver's license (manual transmission)
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is desirable that you have relevant work experience in handling contacts with people in difficult life situations. It is also desirable if you have relevant work experience in case management, investigation, or decision-making that affects individuals and businesses.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be employed as a bailiff inspector trainee. The Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means that you follow the governmental value framework. There are also special requirements for judgment, security thinking, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also posed to references. We also collect information about debts registered with the Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business prohibitions. The information obtained is considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
